Medical Benefits

Health benefits are available to full-time Home Office Employees (hourly employees working 32+ hours a week). Employees may choose to opt into health coverage, which includes medical, dental, and vision. All are provided; there is no way to select only part of this. 色花堂论坛 色花堂论坛 School and the employee contribute to the premium cost for coverage.

ACCESSING BENEFITS

  • Kaiser will send you an insurance card. You can find doctors and request a new card,
  • VSP will not send cards. When you go to the doctor, give them your birth date and the last four of your social status. Find a doctor
  • Delta Dental will send an insurance card. You can find doctors and reach out to customer service to get a replacement card. You can also register for MySmile and download a card to print

ELIGIBLE MEMBERS

  • Your spouse聽
  • Domestic partner (except for high-deductible plan) (Affidavit of Domestic Partnership required)聽
  • Dependent children under age 26 (unmarried and tax dependents of the subscriber)
  • Disabled children may be eligible, regardless of age, if approved by the insurance organization

You may enroll your family when you are first hired. Their coverage will begin when your coverage begins. If you do not enroll eligible dependents at the time of hire, you have only two options available to you to obtain coverage. They are:聽

  • Annual Renewal, which is September of each year, or聽
  • Qualifying Events, examples of which include marriage/divorce, birth or adoption of a child, spouse鈥檚 new coverage or loss of coverage through their employer, and others

Department of Retirement Services (DRS)

As a public employee in Washington, you鈥檙e eligible for retirement benefits administered by the Department of Retirement Services (DRS).

There is a secondary retirement plan called the Deferred Compensation Plan (DCP) that we also highly recommend! The DCP is a special type of savings program that helps you invest for the retirement lifestyle you want to achieve鈥攁 lifestyle that might be hard to reach with just your pension and Social Security. This is not a requirement and you may opt in and out at any time.

Non instructional staff

If you are hired into an eligible non instructional school based position, you are a member of School Employee Retirement System (SERS). A school based position is anyone who is not in a teaching position and is employed by a public school as school support staff.聽

There are two plans to choose from:聽

SERS Plan 2 (pension only)

SERS Plan 3 (pension and investment)

Employee Assistance Program

The Employee Assistance Program (EAP) provides you, your spouse or domestic partner, and children up to age 26, coaching and problem solving services that are free, convenient, and confidential with a licensed behavioral health provider. Receive up to three sessions with a qualified clinical expert, and access a range of online resources.
